Gigs, Drums, travels

Since moving to the DC/VA area in 2001, I've been lucky to play in, join, and help form many different groups. In 2001, I joined the US Navy Band in Washington, DC. In 2004, I joined the cover band Dr.FU (still going strong) and the Great Noise Ensemble (retired in 2015). Recently, I've joined the conductorless Ars Nova Chamber Ensemble and Pro Arte Chamber Ensemble. In 2015, I helped form the Iron Maiden tribute band, Eyes of the Nile. Outside of these groups, I've also been able to play musicals, opera, ballet, worship music, combo gigs, wedding bands, and more. Here are some pics from some amazing musical times I've been able to take part in. Oh, and lots of drums...

       US Navy Band

After grad school, I took a bunch of auditions and was lucky enough to win a job with the US Navy Band in 2001. Between performing ceremonies at Arlington Cemetery, the White House, the Pentagon, and playing concerts around the country and even soloing many times with the band, I couldn't be more lucky to have this job!

 Dr.FU

Once I got settled with Navy Band life, I started looking around for bands to possibly play with. I couldn't decide what style I'd be interested in playing- progressive rock ala Dream Theater or something original like The Beatles? A cover band? I put up ads, auditioned for a couple General Business bands, but no luck. I saw Dr. FU's ad but they were looking for a singer. I happened to go to their website, loved the song list and content, and just happened to message them anyway saying I'd be interested if they ever needed a drummer. They did...that was 2004 and here we still are!

Eyes of the Nile

EOTN were formed in 2015 after I answered a Craigslist ad sent to me by a friend. Turned out I knew the singer who placed the ad and after a couple of rehearsals and lineup changes, we recorded a demo and started playing the major rock venues around town. We pride ourselves on getting as close to the original songs as possible with a lively stage show that leaves the crowd thoroughly entertained. To hear some of our demo, click here.

nowhere men

Nowhere Men has been in the making for several years and since this year (2017) have finally started to play professional gigs. I don't play drums, but sing, along with my fellow lads. Just 2 acoustic guitars and bass. Check out music from our 6 song demo here.
